Sunny sends our application off tomorrow, i have some concerns about some documents (my pay slips and bank statements are online so they are just printed off in black and white).
Her application should arrive some time next week and we hope it will take around a month and she can come to live with me after the Chinese new year. Fingers and toes crossed it will go smoothly, I really miss being with her.

Sunny got her visa today , a LOT faster than we expected. Just took one week from them receiving her application to her getting her passport back!
Needless to say we are over the moon :)
It took us about a month to get all the stuff needed for her application - we wanted to get it right first time, seems we succeeded!

This is a great thread and its nice to see some real life stories with fairly short waiting times.  There are a lot of scary stories out there, on the net, about years of waiting time.  We are just going through the process of trying to get a tourist visa for my girl to come to Canada for a few weeks.  I was shocked by what the Canadian Consulate office in Shanghai wanted to see from me.  I'd read about providing your life story for trying to sponsor someone to immigrate, but this is just for a tourist visa.  We should know in a couple of weeks if she gets it, keep your fingers crossed.
My qin ai de is in Shanghai, and I'm not

Irish

So pleased for your success with Sunny's visa...you must both be very excited !!

Its nice to see that the Irish Government/Immigration Department is actually working for the benefit of its citizens and not doing the same Bull sh###t process that most of us have to go through for months and months...and in Rhonald's case....years !!

Best wishes to you both
David

Fantastic news my friend! :)
So it won't be long now until you have someone to keep you warm on those long Irish winter nights.
