Our group history

I thought it might be interesting for many of our new members to hear about how our group came to be.

I joined chnlove in early October 2008.  I spent a lot of time reading the official forums, but got frustrated with how slow things operated over there.  Sometimes questions would not get posted, while other times, it would take a couple of days to get the question posted.  By the time I would get an answer, I either had my answer, or just didn't care anymore.  Out of boredom, and out of a need to try to get faster answers, I decided to start a group on Facebook.  This was sometime in November.

Getting people to join was a little slow.  If I recall, I believe froseman and Joshua were the first members to join.  After a short while, we were up to around 35 guys.  Most I did not know, although a few names were recognized from the official forum.  Most notably, was Arnold. Maxx, and China Shark.

Lots of questions were being posted in the early days, and answers were quick to come in from the other guys.  But at this point, we were still just a facebook group.  We did not quite see ourselves as a brotherhood yet.  All of this changed, when Irishman went to China.  I can't remember when he went, but it was a memorable trip for everyone in the group.  This was the first time we were able to get daily updates from a member, and at the same time, offer a brother some much needed advice and support.  The final ingredient in becoming The Brotherhood had been added...someone who needed help.

After Irishman's trip, our group started to grow faster.  We soon realized that we were outgrowing facebook.  Chong was trying to keep things organized, by creating a Library of Topics.  We felt that for all new members coming in, it might be confusing to try to read through hundreds of posts, trying to research information.  Some of us mods started talking about moving to another venue, when Ronan approached us about the same thing.  It was obvious now that we had to move.  Ronan took it upon himself to start creating the forum you currently see.  With the help of Vince as our resident graphics guy, the new forum started to take shape.

In late March of 2009, we officially opened up this forum for use.  As of this post, we have 163 registered users.  The brotherhood is getting stronger and stronger.  Sadly, we have had some friends leave us for whatever reason, but at the same time, we have gained many new friends.

So here we are...partners, brothers and friends.  Welcome all.

I for one am grateful I found you guys.  I have learned so much the last 1 1/2 weeks.  I have already started implementing some of the ideas from the threads with the woman I am talking to.  I have saved every word we have spoke to each other and when some of the threads inspire me to do something different I write it down at the end of the file so I do not forget.  The next time I write her there are several paths I can go in speaking with her.

This site is a phenomenal resource for a person just getting started.  I have been talking to a unbelievably lovely woman for about 1 1/2 months.  I am not sure I can tell you she is the one yet but things are looking real good.

I just read the contract that Vince G put into a thread.  WOW!!!!!!  I suddenly have a different respect an opinion on these ladies who are truly looking for a husband.  If someone told me that I was going to have to pay that much to find a wife I would suggest they take a long walk on a short pier.  The EMF's do not look all that expensive now.  Don't get me wrong we need to move beyond EMF's but I feel differently about it now.

You experienced guys keep on posting and Thank you for doing so.

Shaun

Irish I don't what's up with this thread but it is reading 11 replies yet Shaun and Martin are the only ones visible. Labtop has been acting up so I thought that was the case yet I am using a school pc and still the same issue. Great thread Martin, as much as I rant and rave and occasionally whine you guys are truly my brothers in this thing of ours. Since beginning the journey I've learned so many new things about myself as well as the Chinese culture. Together we are truly a force to be reckoned with. Our solidarity is our strength. Yes, some will occassionally fall by the wayside yet that is the way of the world. Our mission state, hell I just realized we never actually created a an official one. Mods I think this would be a good idea to actually start a thread and poll the brotherhood as to what our official mission statement should be. This way all of us feel part of the process of making this thing of ours even better. Yes, we have evolved into something we all should be proud of. All of our lives have changed for the better by being exposed to the Chinese culture as well as our Chinese women. As I've said before we are the chosen ones to follow the path less travelled. Keep up the good work Martin, Vince, Irish, Maxx, Arnold, Chong because you are the grease that keeps the wheels running here. I for one will be eternally grateful for stumbling upon Chnlove one day. Ironically I'll probably marry my future bride outside of it but dems da breaks. Each and everyone of you has given me information that I've used in my adventure so yes I need you as much and as sadly as you need me, lol. We've all come to appreciate life so much more now that we've found our place in this world. Eggmen of the world unite!

Oops, right feeling and response, wrong thread.  I guess after supper the high blood sugar level has kicked in.  I thought I was replying to Vince G's contract.

Mike there might be something wrong.  I am certain I was on Vince G's tread about the lady's contract.  Or....... maybe the first paragraph is right.

Hi guys, I joined Chnlove in Nov. 2007, I started by writing to a woman using the EMF system, went to see her in Feb. 2008 didn't work out and getting info or questions answered there is as Martin has said was slower then snail mail, started with a new woman in March of 2008, went to talking on the phone with her every 3 days, went to meet her in May 2008 she was not the woman in the photos, spent 2 weeks with a VERY young lady acting as a tour guide, came home and started talking to a 39 year old woman , we got along very well then her parents said no to me, for you newbies, you must also win over the parents as well as your lady, when I returned home I met my now wife, she was from Chnlove at one time but had moved here 5 years ago, so all I can say is keep trying, and this forum will help you with any questions and you wont have to wait for the question to be posted in a day or two,if any one has a question and I can answer it I am more then happy to help.
Have fun and keep both eyes open at all times.
Michael

Shaun don't worry about it (which trend) Martin might have linked it here so he gets more replies. :icon_cheesygrin:
I heard and read so many things about the contracts and what the women pay I had to get it from the horse's mouth (so to speak). Rumor and gossip bother me when I want to know the truth.

BTW Martin I was #13 at Facebook. I waited to see how it took off. It took about two weeks before it gained momentum.

Michael...it is not a problem with your computer...it was a bunch of deleted posts where we were having a conversation on here rather than using the shoutbox.  I deleted the posts, but it still showed up as having replies.

I just wish I would have had this on my first trip.  Anyway. this is a great resource for anyone even if just going to China for a visit.  But for someone doing what we are doing it is a must.  You should not even be writing to a lady without this forum.  Because there are answers to questions you do not even know  to ask let alone finding answers to questions you know about.  This is such a valuable resource.  Thanks everyone for making it was it is.

martin, just wanted to let you know how great I thought your introduction was. It was an inspiration and motivation, I'm sure, to all that have read it. It gave me that tingly feeling when you're watching an emotional scene in an epic movie. :icon_cheesygrin: great job to you and everyone.

Great Job ... Martin ... for sure !

Thinking of our Forum compared to Chnlove's , I can't see why they don't just get rid of their's and have us move in it's place . We would be of much more help to them that way . Put us on their Payroll and oust those that take two to three day's to read every post before putting it on . Our Admin . and Mod's will keep it cleaner and more honest for all the new joining member's .
