I have to "deal with" Liyan about many things, in fact, and I was thinking about the gift to be sent to her home.. and you may have gave me the correct answer :)

I will try to upload some pictures today / tonight, anyway.

Good luck with the gift giving. I sent a small teddy bear. The post office said it would take 5 days from the UK (bearmail), but it actually took 2 weeks!

Fortunately it arrived the day after we had a small disagreement, so the timing was excellent :icon_cheesygrin:.

I would send in fact some flowers (lilies) as she really likes it :)
some white ones would be quite good, I think, since I have readed about the meaning of many colors.

Yes flowers would be good. I am not sure about chinese superstitions though, as some things I read that are meant to be bad I have actually seen my lady do! I thought white was a funeral colour, but who knows. I don't think you can lose with red. My lady sure likes wearing yellow.

But I think flowers would make a good gift. Just don't send anyone a knife and a clock!!!

One girl friend I had here always bought we White Lilies.  Was that because of my Majestic, purity and virginity and I was heavenly to be with !!!!

More like she was following Brett suggestion and was thinking of sending me to heaven sooner rather than later and was planning my funeral!!!

well', i'm not looking for funeral ones... :(
but ... is there any way to find some lily's with a nice color? because on chinaroses, i don't really know what means :

- LILY (CALLA) - Beauty  (what does "calla" mean?)
- LILY (DAY) - Coquetry, Chinese Emblem for Mother  (same about "day"?
- LILY (EUCHARIS) - Maiden Charms  (same about "eucharis"?)
- LILY (TIGER) - Wealth, Pride  (same about "tiger?"

Sorry if that can be "stupid" but ... even Calla and Eucharis mean nothing to me... :(

The White CALLA Lilly, is the Lilly used in funeral decorations.... It certainly is in UK, and the States.  I don't know the specific meaning, but it's got to be something to do with death, lol!!

I have a small garden bed full of them, all different colours, but then i'm not suspicious. haha!!

Quel homme :D Félicitations, I'm happy it went well for you.

I'm not sure white flowers are associated with funerals, but ask one of the guys here who has already married, I'm sure there are plenty of consultants that qualify ^_^ I think white clothes are appropriate for mourning, which doesn't mean you can't wear white just to look good.

I'd like to send her some lilys because she really likes it. If I would send some blue roses, I'd think she'd think that I didn't memorize that she likes lilys...:s
