not sure anyone has mentioned it yet, but livemocha.com is a great site to learn any language. It works a lot like Rosetta Stone, where you learn by looking at pictures. You can post written and verbal assignments and have them graded by people who are fluent in the language and are learning other languages. You in turn grad and help other's learn your spoken language. It is worth checking out and totally FREE!!!!

I should be learning the language but it is far easier for me to teach my Wife English than for me to learn page after page of Chinese that has gone from my head an hour later.

I try to learn a phrase a day but unless I use them regularly they are forgotten.   By next year I wiill have have forgotten completely Xinnian Kuaili and the reply 'Gong Shi Far Tie' - well that is what it sounds like.

Well I signed up at livemocha and got a letter from some email address calling herself lonly10. The email was written in both English and French and she wanted for me to reply so she could send me her picture. She claims that reading my profile made her feel that we had a connection  On my profile I said I was married and here to learn Mandarin. I should have cut and paste her message for you guys but I already deleted it.

Hopefully I will have good news about this site once I start trying out some lessons. I guess my 1st lesson was new signer beware.
