Shaun,

Again, ....not sure what the time is there in your part of the States,  but in China it's 1.30am. What time did you say you had to be on line where you are, to match China's 10am ??

Have you had your test run with Mike in China yet, and id so, ...how did it go for you??

David.....
Just read Vince's post, so your 12 hours behind China so yes 10pm tonight is the big meet ...haha!!
I think vince is getting the am and pm mixed up from her original letter. I can't see any of the agencies being still open at 10pm!! ...haha!!

I have it right (I'll look later?) hehe

Shaun is from the state right above mine, same time zone. China is a day ahead of us by 12 hours. So if she said 10:00 AM her time it would be 10 PM the night before here. So if she said Saturday morning it would be his Friday eve.

Oh OK I see what you meant. AM/PM. I tried to make it simple in the same day that's why I had it that way.

Guys, sorry I've been with mpo Mike getting the web-cam set up.  He really help me and I am thankful.  The chat happens in about 21 minutes. I just got to remain calm.  I feel like a kid again.

Thanks Mike,

All I can say is the immortal words spoken by Billy Crystal from the movie City Slickers, "Yeeeeee Haaaaaawwwwww!!!!!!!!!"

I cannot believe we talked for 1 hour and 15 minutes.  She sang a song then I sang one.  It was a struggle because her English is bad and my Chinese is worse.

We laughed and looked and kidded each other.  She said people can tell us apart.  She wears the smile and I wear the glasses.  Guys she smiled the whole time.  She wore a beautiful red dress.  And guys she didn't look like her photos, she looked older, which I expected, but she is still beautiful.

Mike your the man!!!!  Couldn't have done it without you; not tonight anyway.  And by the way, Pinky used headphones.  I do appreciate everyones help and council.  I'll stick around a while.  I kept on thinking that I wish I could have made a few pictures of her as we were talking.

I will still wait for chnlove's reply though.  I told them today that I still expect them to do their investigation.

Again thanks guys,  Wish we had a smiley guy doing back flips.  :icon_eek: Back flips?  I can't do not stinking back flips!!!!!  :P

Shaun,

Pleased it went so well for you on the webcam link-up. Just goes to show, what a positive difference, webcam can make to a relationship where your sole communication has been via translated words in EMF's.
Well your on ''double bubble'' now Shaun, you can now webcam your lady (all be it with a little organisation), and you also now have a fee less means of mailing your letters between you both. I'd say overall, you have come out on top here as far as the agency/Melody is concerned, and you also seem on top with your lady too (excuse the pun haha!!)

Shaun, i really wouldn't bother going any further with chnlove, they have obviously worked in the background here, and it's already paid off in your favour. I have no doubt that this Melody, has written a few letters to you on Pinky's behalf in the past. Now that could have been with Pinky's knowledge, or not, what's important now is where do you want to go from here?
If you want this relationship to grow and move forward, then concentrate on doing just that. I think your next move is to try and get Pinky more involved with using the webcam facility, either at the agency, or at the net cafe's or even Pinky investing in an inexpensive laptop/Netbook herself!!!

Anyway, the main thing is,....Your back on track, ...Well done Mate!!

Scott, yes it is worth more than a refund. I feel like we've overcome a huge hurdle and we can move forward. Now, I can ween Pinky from EMF and the dependency of the translator.  If I handle things correctly she will no longer see the need for Melody.

Again thanks to all that helped me, advice and web-cam instruction.

Shaun,

Your going to still need the translation services of the agency, but you won't be using the EMF's, you now use the ''email address for Pinky''. Once your on regular webcam meetings, the translator can't falsify or embellish the mails between you then, because you can check between you, what you have said in your letters, and the translator will know that too.... To be honest, i don't think she will even try now, she's already been found out.

Webcam is good for your personal needs, but it's not that good for discussing things clearly, when the language barrier is still there. Trying to translate emails with on-line translation add-ons like goggle translate etc, will get you into a heap of trouble, they are just not that good or capable. They are good only for one off simple sentences, if you try adding sentences together you stand a good chance of the meanings being totally lost, ...if not worse!!

That brings up , the question I had ask My Wife ( having a Agency E-Mial address ) if they can still see and read our letter's ? The answer is NO . When their are given the personal E-Mail address from the Agency , it comes with an Password that only my Wife and the Translator knew off . Now , she has changed that Password a long time ago . So no peeking in our E-Mail's from there . Thought I clear that up .
